Aces & Races — Saturday Showcase

Multi-Track Mega-Card | March 7, 2026

Your guide to the best action across the country on a loaded Saturday of racing.

Santa Anita Park — The Headliner Card

Santa Anita serves up the richest slate of the day, anchored by three graded stakes and some of the most compelling horses in training.

Race 4 — Grade 1 Beholder Mile (8 Furlongs, Dirt | 1:34 PM PT)

Purse: $300,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up, Fillies & Mares

This is the race of the day at Santa Anita, and it may not be close. Post 4, Splendora, is the morning-line favorite at 4/5 and is projected to run well clear of this field. Bob Baffert sends her out and she draws the most favorable projection of any horse in this race by a wide margin. Post 5, Bless the Broken (6/1, F. Geroux/B.H. Cox) is the logical contender for the place spot, with Post 3, Dazzling Move (8/1, T. Gaffalione/S.A. Joseph, Jr.) rounding out the trifecta picture.

Betting Suggestion: Splendora WIN is the play of the day at Santa Anita. For exotics, build exactas and trifectas using Splendora on top with Bless the Broken and Dazzling Move underneath.

Race 8 — Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 3:41 PM PT)

Purse: $200,000 | 3-Year-Olds

A key Kentucky Derby prep, and the projections here are crystal clear. Post 4, Brant (1/1, F. Geroux/B. Baffert) leads this field comfortably on paper and carries one of the highest projected numbers of any 3-year-old in the country today. Post 6, So Happy (2/1, M.E. Smith/M. Glatt) is the logical main rival — well-regarded and connected to a sharp outfit. Post 3, Secured Freedom (8/1, K. Kimura/T. Yakteen) fills out the trifecta at a price.

Betting Suggestion: Brant WIN/PLACE. Exacta: Brant over So Happy. Trifecta: 4 / 6 / 3, 5.

Race 10 — Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap (10 Furlongs, Dirt | 4:43 PM PT)

Purse: $300,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up

The Big Cap is back. Post 3, Just a Touch (3/2, F. Geroux/B.H. Cox) sits atop the projections with the highest number in this race and carries connections that know how to win on the big stage. Post 2, Getaway Car (3/1, J.J. Hernandez/B. Baffert) is the clear second choice and figures to stalk the pace. British Isles (Post 6 on the program, 6/1) and Westwood (Post 7 on the program, 7/2) give the race depth, but the top two appear best.

Betting Suggestion: Just a Touch WIN. Exacta: Just a Touch over Getaway Car. For value, consider a small trifecta including Westwood.

Race 9 — Grade 2 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (8 Furlongs, Turf | 4:12 PM PT)

Purse: $200,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up

A deep turf mile with international flavor. Post 3, El Potente (5/2, H.I. Berrios/D. Blacker) heads the projections. Post 1, Mi Hermano Ramon (5/1, A. Fresu/M. Glatt) is close behind and offers some value. Posts 4 and 2 — Gas Me Up and Almendares (GB) — sit just behind and make this an appealing spread race.

Betting Suggestion: This is a spread race. Use El Potente, Mi Hermano Ramon, and Gas Me Up in combination in exactas and trifectas.

Oaklawn Park — The Southern Powerhouse

Race 9 — Grade 2 Azeri Stakes (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 4:44 PM CT)

Purse: $400,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up, Fillies & Mares

One of the premier distaff races of the weekend, and the projections make Post 2, Nitrogen (4/5, J.L. Ortiz/M.E. Casse), a dominant presence. Her projection stands well clear of the field. Post 3, Majestic Oops (3/1, F. Arrieta/D. Ward) is the most viable threat, with Post 4, Quietside (15/1, R.A. Vazquez/J.A. Ortiz) offering intriguing price value in the exotics.

Betting Suggestion: Nitrogen WIN is a strong play. Exacta: Nitrogen over Majestic Oops. Trifecta: 2 / 3 / 4, 5, 6 for coverage.

Race 5 — Allowance (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 2:36 PM CT)

Purse: $125,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up, Fillies & Mares

A strong allowance division with two horses separating themselves at the top. Post 3, Untamed Moment (7/5, F. Arrieta/D. Fawkes) and Post 9, Pahoehoe d’Oro (9/5, R.A. Vazquez/P. D’Amato) are close in the projections and both project well above the rest of the field. Post 2, Pronghorn (5/1, E. Asmussen/S.M. Asmussen) is a distant third and may benefit if the top pair battle.

Betting Suggestion: Untamed Moment and Pahoehoe d’Oro in exacta boxes. Trifecta: 3, 9 / 3, 9 / 2, 8.

Race 10 — Allowance (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 5:18 PM CT)

Purse: $125,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up

A loaded field to close the Oaklawn card. Post 10, Classy Empire (3/1, R.A. Vazquez/M.E. Biehler) tops the projections, followed closely by Post 3, Publisher (2/1, E. Asmussen/S.M. Asmussen). Publisher is the morning-line favorite and has the Asmussen barn behind him. This one is razor-thin at the top.

Betting Suggestion: Box Classy Empire and Publisher in exactas. Include Post 1, Number One Dude (9/2) as a trifecta saver.

Tampa Bay Downs — Stakes-Packed Afternoon

Race 4 — Grade 3 Michelob Ultra Challenger Stakes (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 1:56 PM ET)

Purse: $125,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up

Post 2, Disco Time (3/5, F. Prat/B.H. Cox) is the heavy favorite and the projections back up that confidence. He’s the most dominant projected winner in this race by several lengths on paper. Post 1, Disruptor (7/2, I. Ortiz Jr./T.A. Pletcher) is the clear second choice and runs for one of the best barns in the country.

Betting Suggestion: Disco Time WIN. Exacta: Disco Time over Disruptor. For a trifecta, include Post 6, Solo Venturi (4/1, J.R. Velazquez/W. Walden).

Race 9 — Grade 2 Hillsborough Stakes (9 Furlongs, Turf | 4:29 PM ET)

Purse: $225,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up, Fillies & Mares

A beautiful turf marathon for the fillies and mares. Post 4, Destino d’Oro (5/2, J. Alvarado/B.H. Cox) leads the projections with the highest number in the race and carries excellent connections. Post 1, Whiskey Decision (2/1, F. Prat/C.C. Brown) is the morning-line choice, is very close in the projections, and Prat is simply one of the best in the business.

Betting Suggestion: Box Destino d’Oro and Whiskey Decision in exactas. Trifecta: 4, 1 / 4, 1 / 2, 6, 7.

Race 11 — Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby (8.5 Furlongs, Dirt | 5:35 PM ET)

Purse: $400,000 | 3-Year-Olds

The marquee Derby prep in Florida. Post 6, Further Ado (9/5, I. Ortiz Jr./B.H. Cox) paces the projections and is the most likely winner in the field. Post 9, Canaletto (5/2, F. Prat/C.C. Brown) is the other Brown-trained runner and is extremely close in the projections — making this a two-horse race at the top. Post 5, Powershift (7/2, J.R. Velazquez/T.A. Pletcher) has the pedigree connections but drops back in the projections.

Betting Suggestion: Box Further Ado and Canaletto in exactas. Trifecta: 6, 9 / 6, 9 / 5, 8.

Race 10 — Grade 3 Florida Oaks (8.5 Furlongs, Turf | 5:00 PM ET)

Purse: $200,000 | 3-Year-Old Fillies

Post 11, Laigina (7/2, J. Alvarado/P.L. Biancone) tops this field in the projections, while the rest of the field is tightly grouped. Post 9, Kokomotion (9/2, J.R. Velazquez/D. Beckman) and Post 7, Time to Dream (5/2, I. Ortiz Jr./T.A. Pletcher) are close enough behind to make this an intriguing spread.

Betting Suggestion: Use Laigina on top in exactas with Time to Dream and Kokomotion underneath.

Gulfstream Park — South Florida Highlights

Betting Suggestion: Takethemoneyhoney WIN. Exacta: Takethemoneyhoney over Dwelling Legacy and Grayson’s Girl. Trifecta: 5 / 1, 6 / 1, 6, 3.

Race 7 — Not for Love Stakes (6 Furlongs, Dirt | 3:09 PM ET)

Purse: $100,000 | 4-Year-Olds & Up

A rematch-caliber sprint with two sharp horses well ahead of the pack. Post 1, Quint’s Brew (1/1, F. Boyce/E.T. Allard) leads the projections, with Post 6, Blue Kingdom (8/5, M.J. Sanchez/J.
