Aces and Races: Wednesday Mega-Card

Multi-Track Special — March 4, 2026

Six tracks. Dozens of races. One place to find the best of the day.

From the mid-Atlantic to the desert Southwest, Wednesday’s card is loaded with action. We’ve combed through the fields at Charles Town, Mahoning Valley, Parx Racing, Tampa Bay Downs, Turfway Park, and Turf Paradise to bring you the standout races, the horses to watch, and the bets worth making. Let’s get into it.

Charles Town — Evening Card (Post Time: 7:00 PM ET)

Charles Town’s Wednesday night program runs eight races on the dirt, and a few of them deserve your full attention.

Race 2 — Claiming $5,000, 4.5 Furlongs (7:30 PM ET)

The standout play of the early Charles Town card. Go Go Prancer (PP 2) sits at the top of this field by a wide margin and draws the morning line favorite at 3/5. The field drops off sharply behind him, with Guardian Prince (PP 6) and Aim for the Cork (PP 4) dueling for second billing. Go Go Prancer is the kind of horse you can build tickets around tonight.

Bet: Win/Place on Go Go Prancer. Use Guardian Prince and Aim for the Cork underneath in Exactas.

Race 7 — Allowance, 6.5 Furlongs (9:49 PM ET)

This is the marquee race of the Charles Town evening. Nine horses go to post in a competitive allowance, and the top of the field is tightly bunched. Just for the Money (PP 2) leads the way and is paired with a strong connections edge — trainer A. Farrior and jockey A. Bocachica are a sharp combo at this track. Prince Prancealot (PP 6) and Toodleswasmyname (PP 9) sit right behind him and make the top three legitimate threats.

Bet: Exacta box Just for the Money / Prince Prancealot / Toodleswasmyname. For trifecta players, key Just for the Money on top with those two and Nola Boss (PP 1) filling out the bottom.

Race 8 — Claiming $5,000, 8.5 Furlongs (10:17 PM ET)

A ten-horse field to close out the night, and Box Office (PP 9) stands alone at the top. He exits the Farrior barn again — that combination has been all over the Charles Town card tonight — and carries a healthy edge on the field. El Mayo (PP 6) and Bear Hunt (PP 2) round out the top three.

Bet: Win on Box Office. Exacta: Box Office over El Mayo and Bear Hunt.

Mahoning Valley — Afternoon Card (Post Time: 12:15 PM ET)

Mahoning Valley offers eight races on the Ohio circuit, and the day kicks off early with a solid starter field.

Race 1 — Starter Optional Claiming $25,000, 6 Furlongs (12:15 PM ET)

Fivefive Six Champ (PP 3) leads this five-horse field and is projected to best the par for the condition. Trigger Point (PP 1) is right behind him and comes from the same barn — both trained by J.P. Bernardini — making this a fascinating two-horse stable entry situation. Thru the Vine (PP 4) is third but falls off considerably.

Bet: Exacta: Fivefive Six Champ over Trigger Point. The barn connection makes a reverse Exacta worth throwing in as well.

Race 4 — Claiming $15,000, 6 Furlongs — Statebred (1:39 PM ET)

The best race of the Mahoning afternoon. Kinderhook (PP 4) heads this seven-horse field with a clear advantage and goes as the 2/1 morning line. Elliot the Dragon (PP 7), Need to Know Basis (PP 3), and Mr Loooch (PP 1) are all closely grouped behind and give this race a competitive mid-pack. Jockey F. Salazar Becerra aboard Kinderhook has been a sharp presence at MVR.

Bet: Win/Place Kinderhook. Trifecta: Kinderhook on top, Elliot the Dragon and Need to Know Basis for second and third.

Race 8 — Allowance, 6 Furlongs — Statebred (3:31 PM ET)

Onirico (PP 1) closes out the Mahoning card in style. He’s the clear top selection at 6/5 on the morning line with a healthy edge on the rest of the field. Dr Spirito (PP 6) is next best at a generous 6/1, and the field falls off quickly after those two.

Bet: Win on Onirico. Exacta: Onirico over Dr Spirito and Machico Madeira (PP 3).

Parx Racing — Afternoon Card (Post Time: 12:05 PM ET)

Parx puts up eleven races today, including some well-funded claiming and allowance events. Here are the spots that stand out.

Race 7 — Claiming $7,500, 7 Furlongs (2:47 PM ET)

The deepest field of the Parx card — twelve horses going at a route distance, and this one has value all over it. Transcendental (PP 11) sits at the top with a strong advantage and a morning line of 4/1. Asmodeus (PP 12) is second at 5/1. Praetorian Guard (PP 8) and Aleah Aleah (PP 3) are lurking just behind.

Bet: Exacta: Transcendental over Asmodeus and Praetorian Guard. With 12 horses, a wide Trifecta box using those three plus Aleah Aleah could pay handsomely.

Race 9 — Starter Optional Claiming $20,000, 6.5 Furlongs — Fillies & Mares (3:41 PM ET)

A fascinating spot with a dead heat at the top. Unsolved Mystery (PP 4) and Our Uptown Girl (PP 5) share the top projection in this field — a genuine pick-’em between two sharp fillies. Unsolved Mystery is the longer price at 5/2 versus 9/5 on Our Uptown Girl, offering slightly better value. Pearls and Heels (PP 1), Jump a Fox (PP 3), and Equus (PP 2) all cluster closely behind.

Bet: Exacta box Unsolved Mystery / Our Uptown Girl. Use Pearls and Heels and Equus in wide trifecta combinations.

Race 10 — Allowance Optional Claiming $75,000, 6.5 Furlongs (4:08 PM ET)

The premier race of the Parx card and one of the best bets on the entire Wednesday slate. Duration (PP 5) has a commanding lead at the top and goes as the 2/1 morning line favorite. Trained by M.V. Pino with M.J. Sanchez up — a strong pairing. Romanesque (PP 4) is second at 5/1 and offers place value, but the rest of the field drops off notably.

Bet: Win on Duration. Exacta: Duration over Romanesque and Marvelous Mo (PP 3).

Tampa Bay Downs — Afternoon/Evening Card (Post Time: 12:48 PM ET)

Tampa Bay offers nine races including two high-quality turf allowances to cap the afternoon.

Race 7 — Allowance Optional Claiming $32,000, 8.5 Furlongs Turf (3:56 PM ET)

One of the best individual races on the entire Wednesday multi-track slate. A deep turf field with a $56,500 purse, and Uncle’s Gold (PP 12 — AE) leads the way. Spirit Prince (PP 6) is right behind at 7/5 — the public’s choice — with Keep It Easy (PP 2) rounding out the top three. Mesero (PP 13 — AE) also looms large if he draws in.

Bet: Exacta: Spirit Prince and Keep It Easy with Uncle’s Gold if he draws in. If the AEs don’t make it, Spirit Prince becomes the top win bet at value odds.

Race 9 — Allowance, 9 Furlongs Turf (4:56 PM ET)

The finale at Tampa and a legitimate high-class turf field. Chicago Theatre (PP 6) tops this eleven-horse route at a fair 3/1. Double Neat (PP 10) and Thundering (PP 2) are grouped right behind at 5/1 and 7/2 respectively, and Tux (PP 9) and Relative Value GB (PP 11 — AE) hover in contention throughout.

Bet: Exacta box Chicago Theatre / Thundering / Double Neat. For trifecta players, use all three on top and add Tux and Three Percent (PP 8) in the third slot.

Turfway Park — Evening Card (Post Time: 5:55 PM ET)

Turfway goes ten deep on the synthetic tonight, including a pair of six-figure purse races that are must-watch events.

Race 7 — Maiden Special Weight, 10 Furlongs Synthetic — $100,000 Purse (8:55 PM ET)

A rich maiden event and Nyquistador (PP 1) is the clear top selection with a meaningful edge over the field. He’s 4/1 on the morning line — not a short price for a horse at the head of his field — making him an excellent win bet. Rapoport (PP 6) and Kicking Clear (PP 7) are equal in second at 5/2 and 3/1. Abbi Fede (PP 5) rounds out a tight group just behind.

Bet: Win on Nyquistador. Exacta: Nyquistador over Rapoport, Kicking Clear, and Abbi Fede. The trifecta with those four has real upside.

Race 8 — Allowance Optional Claiming $40,000, 6.5 Furlongs Synthetic — $104,000 Purse (9:25 PM ET)

The richest and most competitive race of the entire Wednesday card across all six tracks. Zambezi (PP 2) and Mo Quality (PP 7) sit in a near-dead heat at the top, with The Great Oz (PP 4) just a tick behind. All three are single-digit prices and legitimate contenders. Eye Witness (PP 1) and Dr. Saikali (PP 8) add even more depth.

Bet: Exacta box Zambezi / Mo Quality / The Great Oz. Trifecta: use all three on top with Eye Witness and Dr. Saikali underneath. This is a race to spread wide and invest in exotics.

Turf Paradise — Afternoon Card (Post Time: 2:13 PM MT)

Turf Paradise runs six races this afternoon out of Phoenix, mixing dirt and turf in a compact but interesting card.

Race 6 — Claiming $8,500, 6 Furlongs Dirt (3:43 PM MT)

The best race of the Turf Paradise card by a wide margin. Sir Bregovic (PP 1) is the standout atop a nine-horse field at 3/1 on the morning line. He carries the largest projected advantage of any horse on the TUP card today. Jockey M. Americano has been active all afternoon at Turf Paradise and knows this track well. John Dunbar (PP 6) is clearly second at 7/2.

Bet: Win on Sir Bregovic. Exacta: Sir Bregovic over John Dunbar and Cousin Richie (PP 8).

Race 7 — Starter Allowance, 7.5 Furlongs Turf (4:13 PM MT)

An eleven-horse turf field and a competitive spot to close out the TUP afternoon. Little Trouble (PP 5) is the top selection at 4/1 with a clear edge. My Munnings Model (PP 4) and Right Hand Ryder (PP 8) are tied for second, leaving the bottom of the Exacta genuinely open. Baie Longue (PP 7) is the public’s 5/2 morning line choice but projects third in the field — a potential overlay situation if Little Trouble fires.

Bet: Win/Place Little Trouble. Exacta: Little Trouble over Right Hand Ryder, My Munnings Model, and Sonic Speed (PP 2).

Best Bets of the Day

A quick-reference guide to the plays we like most across the entire card:

Best Win Bet: Duration — Parx Race 10. Clear top of a high-level allowance field with strong connections at a fair 2/1.

Best Value Play: Transcendental — Parx Race 7. Top of a twelve-horse field at 4/1 — that’s a gift if he fires.

Best Exotic Race: Turfway Race 8. The richest race of the day with three legitimate contenders bunched at the top. Spread wide and invest in trifectas.

Best Trainer-Jockey Angle: A. Farrior / A. Bocachica at Charles Town — this combination shows up in Races 2, 7, and 8 tonight. Worth following all night long.

Best Longshot Angle: Fivefive Six Champ / Trigger Point reverse Exacta at Mahoning Race 1 — same trainer, both near the top of the field, from a barn that clearly sent two live horses.

Good luck at the windows. Bet responsibly and enjoy the races.
